Lightning Escape With First Playoff Win 20-17

Coach V addresses team after their 20-17 victory over Regis Jesuit

It was not supposed to be close, but with 7 minutes left in the 3rd quarter the Lightning found themselves down 10-0 and in danger of an upset first round exit from the 2008 state playoffs. Then as if to say "enough already" the Lightning offense grinded out 3 second half touchdowns and held on for an exciting 20-17 victory on Thursday night.

Legacy now 9-1 will face the winner of the Poudre / Gateway matchup next weekend in round 2 of the playoffs. Inconsistent offense and penalties again hurt as the Lightning struggled in the first half.

A win is a win especially in the playoffs, but with possible games with Poudre and ThunderRidge looming time is running short.

Congratulations on a big win to Coach V and the Lightning!
