Week One Prime Time Players

Game One "Prime Time Player" Nominees

ASHTON RENSHAW #8 Sr. Safety

Ashton shown here returning an interception had a great game with a pick, several big hits and a punt return for TD that was called back.

CAMERON BROWN #19 Sr. CB

Cameron had 2 picks and anchored the Legacy Secondary. Always around the ball Cameron came into the game with an problem ankle and had a great game.

TRAVIS SEARS #5 Sr. WR

#5 almost wasn't #5 as Travis' Jersey could not be found until late Thursday night. Travis had 3 catches for 77 yds. Including (Left) the 25 yd TD to seal the game.

THE LIGHTNING "D"

Without a broken play the Lightning D would have pitched a shout out. The "D" held Mountain Range to 17 net yds on the ground and kept us in the game.

HOWARD "KIP" SMITH #7 Jr. PK

What a weapon! Kip nailed a 37 yd FG, 4 extra points, and booted every KO out of the stadium. Kip was also 2 for 3 on "scoreboard shots" on extra points in the West End zone.

COACH V

As the Rocky Mountain News pointed out... V could have blown a gasket at half-time time and been totally justified. His approach at half paid off as the Lightning came out and took care of business

Congratulations to all of the Lightning "Prime Time" players in week one. Check back every week throughout the season to see who is nominated.
